Drinking 6-8 8oz glasses of pure water a day - not coffee, not juice, not milk, but water - is one of the simplest things you can do to improve your health. The results will be apparent within a few days: Your skin will glow, your bowels will move more regularly, and it will be easier for you to control your weight. In many cases, blood cholesterol levels drop. If you down your first glass or two when you get up in the morning, you'll find yourself becoming alert and awake without caffeine. If you keep a pitcher of water with lemon slices in your refrigerator, you'll always haev a cool, delicious beverage handy when you want it.
Please note that tap water isn't safe to drink. Depending on where you live and where your water comes from, the types of toxins that flow from your tap will vary. Heavy metals, benzene, chlorine, and carcinogenic agricultural chemicals are typical findings in tap water. Bottled water is expensive, and its quality isn't always assured. Anyone serious about improving their health should buy a water filtration system. You can buy them for a single tap or for your whole house. If you aren't eating organic produce, grains, meats, eggs, and dairy products, it's a safe bet these toxins are a part of your daily diet. If you're eating processed foods, you're probably swallowing monosodium glutamate (MSG), aspartame, tartrazine, sodium benezoate, sodium nitrite, and a host of other additives and preseveratives with your meals.
